“Can Barely Get the Better of a Tennis Ball Let Alone Tyson Fury’: The Boxing Community Reacts to Oleksandr Usyk Using a Reflex Ball

Oleksandr Usyk has been the centre of attention for a substantial amount of time. In 2021, he pulled off an upset by defeating Anthony Joshua and became the Heavyweight champion of the world. Thereafter, he defeated the former champion again and legitimised himself as the better fighter. However, Tyson Fury remains the WBC world Heavyweight champion and Uysk would have to defeat him to attain the undisputed world championship title. The unification bout between the two has been anticipated for a couple of years but the off-court negotiations have been an obstacle for the bout to take place.

Both camps are blaming one another for the negotiations not being productive. Recently, Fury accused Uysk of lingering the bout for financial reasons. As per boxing scene, he stated, “The only reason this fight hasn’t happened is Usyk wants more bags, he wants more money.” Witnessing this, the fans are getting frustrated and made that evident after Uysk posted a video of himself training with a reflex ball.

A reflex ball is a novelty item in which one punches a tennis ball. The same is rarely used by professional boxers unless it involves Usyk. @MichaelBensonn took to Twitter and shared Uysk having a fun time with his reflex ball.

However, the fans could not help themselves but troll Usyk and call him out for lingering the bout with Fury. Here are a couple of fan reactions reflecting upon the same:

A fan Fire Skull was left unimpressed and stated, “He will be in the circus after boxing. He’s better suited there as well”

On similar lines, one fan Beats by Canelo does fancy him after watching the video. He stated, “Can barely get the better of a tennis ball let alone Tyson Fury”

While, fan Canelo Lesnar was not a fan of the training and stated, “Woah hahah he’s so silly!”

While one fan Chi11zo proposed a question and asked, “So what’s up with DDD? Is he still injured or not?”

Another fan Lordnicso made an interesting observation and stated, “Bro hit the shuffle,started dancin ooo”
