Leonard Ellerbe weighs in
Intriguingly, Davis and Mayweather Promotions share history together. The promotion signed the boxer in the nascent stages of his career. However, earlier this year, after years of being associated, the 24-year-old decided to part ways with the promotion. Moreover, their separation was not in haste or with any grudges. The boxer acknowledged that the promotion helped him build his career. Not to mention, even the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, Ellerbe has nothing but nice things to say.
In an interview with FightHype, the promoter asked if Davis would return before the year ends. In response, he claimed that it would be hard for him to give a decisive answer. However, he is certain that when he will make his return, the boxer will create another spectacle. Reflecting on the same, he stated, “That’s good question. That’s the questions I can’t answer. A question that I can’t answer right now. But when Tank is ready to come back out he’s gonna make that big splash like he always does.”
We do know that Ellerbe thinks Davis’ return would be massive following his win against Garcia. Moreover, the boxing world is curious to know who the opponent will be. In the same interview, Ellerbe responds to this question.
Who will Gervonta Davis fight next?
According to Ellerbe, the opponent for ‘Tank,’ is just a face. The undefeated boxer is a big enough name to fight anyone and have a successful event. Along these lines, in the same interview, he stated, “Tank can fight anybody who he wants to fight because he is that big. It don’t have to be fortelled. I can say that, I mean he is that guy.” However, he adds Davis most likely would face the toughest competition out there.
