Floyd Mayweather is widely considered the king of defensive play inside the square ring. However, the legendary boxer has retired from the sport, leaving fans and pundits alike wondering who will replace him. While few names are vying for the spot, ‘Money’ Mayweather himself self has named his successor.

Over the years, Mayweather has been in a plethora of battles against the mightiest of foes. The king of the ring has taken down boxing giants like Manny Pacquiao, Shane Mosley, Oscar De La Hoya, and Canelo Alvarez. However, in recent times, ‘Money’ has been acting as a mentor and, more importantly, a proud grandfather to his grandson Kentrell Gaulden Jr. In a surprising turn of events, Floyd claimed his “prince” grandson would grow up to become a “king.”

Turning to Instagram, the undefeated champion shared a picture of his grandson Kentrell Gaulden Jr. Alongside the wholesome picture of grandfather and grandson, Mayweather wrote a message that left fans in awe. “This prince one day will become the KING,” wrote the former world champion.

On a similar note, this isn’t the first time Mayweather’s grandson made the headlines. The duo has been spotted together on social media and boxing events. KJ is the son of Mayweather’s eldest daughter, Iyanna Mayweather. Recently, an adorable clip of KJ was shared on YouTube that had fans asking for more.

KJ can move like Floyd Mayweather

Despite retiring from the sport, Floyd has decided to take up the gloves yet again to face John Gotti III. The pair first met in the ring earlier this year. While that fight ended in chaos, Mayweather is ready for a second go at Gotti III. For the same reason, Floyd was recently seen in the gym training for the fight alongside grandson KJ.
