In an excellent show of performance, Francis Ngannou stole the show despite losing the fight to Tyson Fury. The majority of the boxing world guessed Fury would easily beat Ngannou. However, Fury defied all odds, not only enduring all ten rounds but also coming remarkably close to defeating Fury. Yet, in what is labeled a controversial split decision, Ngannou lost the fight.
Ngannou’s story doesn’t seem to be over quite yet. Considering it was Ngannou’s debut fight, which forced the WBC heavyweight champion on the canvas in under three rounds, many more doors would open for the former UFC heavyweight champion. What’s more, if Ngannou’s post-fight interview is any evidence, Ngannou is definitely coming back to the square ring soon. But would it be against Tyson Fury?

Francis Ngannou vows to come back even stronger
During his post-fight interview, Francis Ngannou began by thanking everyone who made the event possible and gave him the opportunity. He then proceeded to claim he might have fallen short of winning this time, but he will come back stronger. “I might be wounded, but…I can bite, you know,” said Ngannou. He further added that he would come back to fight, even suggesting having a rematch with Fury. “I’m ready to fight anytime soon. Ngannou even confessed that initially, he was a little nervous. But now that he has got a taste of things, he is ready to take on bigger challenges. “At first, I was a little nervous…now I know I can do this s**t…and hey baby, get ready the wolf is in the house,” said Ngannou. Moreover, when probed about his training duration for the fight, Ngannou revealed he was recovering from a major surgery, so his training duration was shorter.
“I came out from a long recovery…my training camp was three months and a half,” said Ngannou. However, the Heavyweight emphasized that he wasn’t making excuses because he would work hard for his comeback. “Listen, I’m not giving any excuse. I work hard. I give my best,” Ngannou said. Later, in the interview, Ngannou suggested he would plan things out with his team and come back even stronger. “We’re going to gather with my team and look what we could do next to improve our game and come back higher again,” said Ngannou.
