What is next for Ryan Garcia? Some suspect he may face Devin Haney for the WBC super lightweight world title. Intriguingly, the two share a history together. Back in the nascent stages of their career, ‘Kingry,’ and the Dream competed against one another several times in the amateurs. Will destiny bring them together again, but this time in a professional realm?

Last year, in April, Garcia lost against Gervonta Davis. On the other hand, Haney, for the most part, has looked and been unbeatable. In a recent turn of events, a former title contender does not find it to be a wise move for Garcia to face Haney now. Who is this individual, and what is the reasoning behind their perspective?

Is Garcia biting more than he can chew by facing Haney?

According to Gabe Rosado, a retired boxer and a middleweight title challenger, this match-up is quite an intriguing one. However, he advises that Garcia should have a tune-up fight and be on a winning streak before he faces someone of the caliber of Haney. Reflecting on the same, while speaking to FightHype, he stated, “I favor Haney. You can’t count Ryan out. Ryan made some changes in his last fight.”

But Rosada still thinks Garcia should not be jumping into a match against some one like Haney so soon. “I think it is a matter of him catching that rhythm. Developing a style that understands his distance and his jab. Even though he is calling out the big boys, I would like to see him sharpening up a bit before he jumps in there with a fighter like Devin Haney,” stated Rosada.

It appears the retired boxer has the best interest of Garcia at heart. His advice appears to be quite coherent as ‘King Ry’, has only been victorious once since his last defeat and there is hardly time for a tune-up fight. The fight between Garcia and Haney seems almost on the verge of being made.
