The recently concluded clash between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. is still being discussed in the boxing community. Moreover, Crawford’s win over Spence has created much buzz. Fans, analysts, pundits, and critics can’t stop lauding the genius of Terence Crawford. Recently, Bud also hosted a victory parade in his hometown Omaha, Nebraska, to celebrate his win. Bud gave his fans an intimate look into his becoming the king of the ring in this event. Also, stars like Claressa Shields, Rick Ross, LL Cool J, Shaq, and many more appreciated Bud’s performance.
However, a reigning undisputed champion’s opinion about Bud’s performance might raise eyebrows. This champion is none other than Jermell Charlo, the undisputed champion in the light middleweight division, who doesn’t hesitate to express his views. In a recent interview with Fight Hub TV, Charlo was brutally honest about Bud’s performance. Moreover, his viewpoint may lead analysts to reassess with fresh eyes.

What did Jermell Charlo say about the performance of Terence Crawford?
Charlo wasn’t aiming to discuss Bud’s conduct in the match. However, quite a garbed question by the interview led him to finally open up about it.
When the interviewer asked Charlo, “When you look at Crawford, I know in the past you always just said, ‘Look, I’m going to knock this guy out. I’m going to dominate him.’ But seeing what he did to Errol, seeing how good he’s looked, are you a little bit now like, ‘I still think I’m going to win, but this guy is a lot better than I even thought?'”
That’s when Jermell analyzed Bud’s input in the match. He said, “No, I just didn’t think Errol had a bad night, you know what I’m saying? And it wasn’t anything that made me be like, ‘Oh, Crawford’s something spectacular.’ He didn’t throw that many punches. It wasn’t like there was adversity that he had to face within that fight, you know what I’m saying?”

Charlo added saying, “I don’t know why I know y’all are talking about some of these old behind-the-head shots, and that y’all didn’t mention, you know what I’m saying? I’ve seen a bunch of behind-the-head shots during that fight, so when they knocked his balance off and his equilibrium, it wasn’t like Earl just didn’t come to him and snap back. But you know, you live to fight another day, and that’s what he wants.”
Jermell Charlo gave a brutally honest take on Terence Crawford’s performance against Errol Spence Jr. It’s not just an opinion as it reflects a champion’s mindset. His insights, challenges, and views on boxing offer a unique perspective. Whether you agree with Charlo or not, his words will make you think.
