Hoards of people took to social media to express their thoughts on what they thought was a robbery against KSI after Tommy Fury’s unanimous decision win. Furthermore, a Halloween post by DAZN featuring Tommy Fury sparked a flurry of seething comments, painting a picture of discontent among boxing enthusiasts. This incident has reignited discussions about the impact of influencers on the boxing scene.

Fans Irked by Tommy Fury

DAZN posted a picture of Tommy Fury dressed as a vampire on their X account. It is quite obvious that fans are not ready to let go of what transpired between the influencer and the young pugilist. DAZN no doubt tried to make light of the backlash they have been receiving from fans, however, understandably irked, fans took to social media platforms to express their frustrations.

This fan, suggests that Tommy Fury’s victory over KSI had sapped the passion of the popular YouTuber.

Many echoed the sentiment that the Fury family, renowned for their boxing prowess, might be contributing to the decline in the sport’s essence.

Furthermore, the comments on the DAZN post resonated with a prevailing belief: that the Furys were symbolically draining the life out of boxing for KSI.

Similarly, some individuals even drew parallels between Tommy Fury’s influence in the boxing world and his apparent foray into the influencer scene, suggesting that his actions were metaphorically sucking the vitality out of both realms.

Moreover, critics argued that this incident showcased Tommy Fury’s lack of significant activity in the sport, pointing out that his Halloween appearance might be the most action he had seen with his hands in months.

Weeks after the infamous Prime card, fans are still left boiling over the performances of the pugilists involved that night.

KSI calls it a “Robbery”

In a lackluster six-round bout at Misfits PRIME, KSI believed he had done enough to secure a victory over Tommy Fury. However, the judges disagreed, granting Fury a majority decision. KSI voiced his disappointment, particularly after the referee penalized Fury a point early in the fight for repeated blows to the back of the head. Despite KSI’s protest, the judges declared Fury the winner, causing division among fans and pundits regarding the decision.

“It’s a robbery,” KSI said directly after the fight ended.“How many jabs did he land? You didn’t get hardly any shots off. You weren’t landing! Look at your face, look at your eyes. Look at you! I’m the YouTuber, you’re the boxer, you have to win. I understand. It’s all good. [I won]1, 2, 3, and a point off. How do I lose a six-rounder? Unreal. He’s the man that’s meant to be a pro boxer and he won a majority decision. It’s outrageous.”

Similarly, the bout that happened between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou has the community divided. Subsequently, fans took a page out of KSI camp and called Ngannou’s loss a robbery as well, after quite the lackluster performance by  ‘The Gypsy King.’

The uproar caused by the DAZN Halloween post has highlighted a growing concern within the boxing community. Fans are understandably becoming increasingly vocal about their worries regarding the sport’s integrity.
