Last week, Jake Paul had his anticipated clash against Nate Diaz. After a competitive back and forth, the YouTuber turned boxer defeated the MMA veteran via a unanimous decision. In the meantime, Anthony Joshua is set to make his return to the squared circle. However, before his bout, his previous opponent, Dillian Whyte failed his pre-fight drug test. Subsequently, Whyte was barred from competition.

Moreover, the British boxer had no intentions to call the event off. It is reported that the former Heavyweight champion is set to face Robert Helenius on August 12 in London. This move impressed none other than the ‘Problem child,’ and he did not shy away from lauding Joshua. So without further ado, let’s jump straight into what Paul had to say.

Jake Paul was impressed by Anthony Joshua’s bold move to face Robert Helenius

In the world of boxing, boxers tend to not face opponents on short notice. In the current scenario, Joshua had the option to either fight an opponent on short notice or jeopardize the entire fight card. However, Joshua behaved like a true sportsperson and took the responsibility of keeping the event alive to safeguard the interests of the fighters on the undercard. By fighting Helenius, not only is he committed to giving the fans a show but also supporting other boxers on the card.

Witnessing this, Paul could not prevent himself from lauding Joshua publicly and revealing that he would be watching him live. On Twitter, he stated, “Respect to Anthony Joshua for keeping his fight together and ensuring all of the fighters on the undercard are taken care of. That’s what we need more of. Fighters looking out for other fighters. I will be watching on DAZN.”

Apart from being a boxer, Paul is a promoter of, ‘Most Valuable Promotions,’ and understands the money invested in boxing events. However, in the past, Paul was not all praises for Joshua. Only a few months ago, the younger Paul brother called out Joshua publicly.

‘The Problem Child’ doesn’t mince words

In June, Paul was in a state of frenzy witnessing the landscape of Heavyweight boxing. He had complained that the best are not facing the best. In an interview, he stated, “In the heavyweight division, we’re not getting the Tyson Fury vs Joshua fight.” He added, “Guys, come on, make this stuff happen, and let’s make the sport a better place. You guys don’t get paid to spar, you get paid to fight. So get in there and stop ducking each other.”

It is safe to say that Paul does not mind calling a spade a spade and lauds when feels the need to. In addition, Paul appears to be passionate not just about his fighting career but also about the sport in general. What do you make of Paul’s aforementioned comments?
