Recently, to celebrate the crossover between boxing and hip-hop, ESPN+ has hosted the documentary “The Crossovers: 50 Years of Hip Hop and Sports.” This show talks about how both genres became the dominant voice of the generation.
When talking about dominance in sports, there’s no doubt Ali’s name is bound to appear. Unfortunately, since he’s not present among all of us, his daughter, Laila Ali, appeared on the show. Furthermore, Laila Ali uploaded a reel on her Instagram handle where we witnessed a glimpse of the show. Additionally, fans are in awe of Laila’s words about his father. Her words even led them to share their views about her legendary father.

How did Muhammad Ali became the dominant voice of combat sports?
In the reel Laila posted, she talked about how her father wasn’t a rapper but his impact was humongous. She captioned her post, “My father wasn’t a “rapper” but he has served as an inspiration to many that are. We both knew the power lyrics of a rhyme had when stepping in the ring!”
However, Ali did have a poetic gift. As his poems are quite renowned. One of them was before losing to Joe Frazier in their first fight, March 1971.Where Ali said, “Joe’s gonna come out smokin’ / But I ain’t gonna be jokin’/ This might shock and amaze ya/ But I’m going to destroy Joe Frazier.” This is just one instance. Even his famous saying, ‘Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee’ has inspired many.
Furthermore, fans including renowned actress Venessa Williams couldn’t stop themselves from pouring their reverence for her the great Ali and even Laila. As Venessa wrote, “Love and adore YOU and your daddy! The GOAT!”

Then, another fan added how he helped him love himself more. Thus, the fan wrote, “Wow! Great 411! LOVE YOUR FATHER! He helped me love myself. A force, a legend! Love you”
Next, a third was swift to point out the creative genius of Ali. As the fan wrote, “The greatest was a poet! The creative genius that was Muhammad Ali!”
Furthermore, a user shared his experience of meeting the legend himself. The user elucidated by saying, “My life will forever be impacted by your father. I met him once when I was nine. It was like meeting Superman! Brutha Ali will always be the greatest!”

Moreover, another user too had met Ali. In this regard, every time he hears of Ali his mind traverses back to his fond memory with him. The user opined, “Speaking of The Real One. I remember playing as a kid in Miami and he pulled up in a Mustang. He just parked a talked with humor. Every time I see his photos or hear his rhymes I remember him fondly!”
