Mike Tyson is all praises for late icon, Michael Jackson. In the recent episode of his podcast, ‘Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson,’ the pop star’s son, Prince Jackson was featured. The 26-year-old was kept away from the public limelight during his childhood by his father. However, after Jackson passed away in 2009, his grandmother permitted him to live a life of normalcy. As of today, Jackson has an identity of himself and boasts more than 800k followers on Instagram.

During the episode, amongst other things, he revealed the lesser-known side of his father and shared some intriguing stories. Meanwhile, Tyson did not shy away from expressing his affection for the late icon and recalls the sheer influence he possessed during the 1980s. His tribute to Jackson was heartfelt, to say the least.

Mike Tyson pays homepage to Michael Jackson

Jackson is a testament to the famous saying, ‘Legends live forever.’ His contribution to culture as a whole is even felt today even after his death. Tyson and Jackson were in the public limelight simultaneously during the 1980’s. ‘Iron Mike,’ was one of the most famous personalities at that time. However, he did not wait a second to confess that his stardom was nowhere close to the sheer influence Jackson held.

In the podcast, in front of Jackson’s son, Tyson stated, “It can be bigger than god complex. That sounds all good but we were all in the 80s that’s when everybody was big. We all mean,  we all knew we weren’t bigger than Michael that’s just the real.”

In addition, the co-host was captivated to see a figure like Tyson acknowledge the influence of Jackson. He stated that one’s head must bow down to the greatness of Jackson to which Tyson assented. However, this has not been the only instance he recalled about, ‘The King of Pop.’

Mike Tyson recounts a fascinating Michael Jackson story

In one of the episodes of his podcast, Tyson recounts the time he met Jackson in Cleveland, Ohio. He claimed, ‘MJ,’ saw him and Don King together but only showed a “peace sign” to the boxing promoter but not him. After the show, Tyson confronted Jackson and told him he looked familiar. He asked, “‘Excuse me, where do I know you from?’ You look familiar. Where do I know you from?”  To which, Jackson with utmost humility says, ”Jacksonville, a pleasure to meet you.”
