How often does the martial arts shown on TV intersect with real-world boxing? Here’s the answer – not very often! But when it does, reactions such as these are eerily similar. In an amusing turn of events, Olympic medalist Tony Jeffries reacted to a clip of former Hollywood sensation Steven Seagal. What he had to say about Segal’s crazy moves was nothing short of hilarious.
Known for representing England at both the European Championships and the Olympics, the Olympian recently turned to X (formerly Twitter) with a forgotten Steven Segal clip. The martial artist popular among moviegoers can be seen taking on multiple opponents and knocking them down with a simple touch. It elicited a bamboozling reaction from Jeffries that would leave even the biggest Seagal fan in tears.

Tony Jeffries doesn’t want to disrespect an entire form of mixed martial arts
Watching the resurfaced clip of Segal’s extraordinary moves, Jeffries was quick to call “bulls**t” while trying not to tarnish the combat form. “Now, I don’t want to disrespect a full martial arts. But what the f***ing hell is this bulls**t,” questioned Jeffries. He went on to describe the unbelievable scene unfolding before him. “Steven Seagal is getting men…attacking him, and he’s just touching them, and they’re falling over,” the Olympian remarked in disbelief.

While questioning if he is missing the context, Jefferies explained what he would do if he faced Seagal. “I would feint it up the body in one big overhand right,” Jefferies said. What’s more, the former professional boxer asserted that he would never get thrown around by Seagal.
Meanwhile, he also repeated that he doesn’t want to disrespect the fighting form because there could be some benefits to it. “I’m not getting thrown to the ground like that. I don’t want to disrespect full martial arts because I am sure there might be some benefits to it,” Jefferies said. This isn’t the first time Steven Seagal’s fighting chops have been brought into question by someone.

Jean-Claude Van Damme claims Steven Seagal refused $20 million fight
Boxing fans must be aware of the variety of rivalries in the sport of boxing, but here is one between Jean-Claude Van Damme and Seagal. Back in the 1990s, Segal questioned Van Damme’s fighting ability, leading to a feud between the Hollywood icons. Moreover, Van Damme dismissed the comment from Seagal, labeling it as kid’s stuff.
However, according to an article from the Telegraph, Van Damme recently revealed that he and Segal were once offered $20 million for a fight. What’s even more interesting is the fact that Segal refused the fight despite questioning Van Damme’s fighting skill previously. “They were having an idea to have a fight between me and Steven at The Mirage. Twenty million each. He didn’t take the fight,” said Van Damme.
