Golden State Warriors is no doubt a major part of the NBA All-Star games, with Curry making the All-Star team nine times in his career. However, he hasn’t played an All-Star game in the Bay Area. Well, the brand new announcement of the return of the NBA All-Star games in the east vs. west format might land him an opportunity.
As far as Chris Paul and Draymond Green are concerned, the game seems to be just showbiz. With a lack of traditional basketball set-up and rules, the players find it less interesting to even perform. Chris Paul has some serious concerns and even got a reply from the NBA commissioner.

Chris Paul commented, Draymond Green seconds
The 13-time All-Star Chris Paul didn’t hesitate to cite some of the major problems with the NBA All-Star game format recently. With the announcement of the first All-Star game to take place in Indianapolis from February 15–18, a couple of Warriors have raised concerns regarding the lost touch and fanfare. It’s no secret that the All-Star games are losing the craze among the fans. The foremost reason for this being that players are reluctant to perform at their maximum potential.

The play-it-cool attitude of the players is very well pointed out by the newly acquired point guard. Chris Paul said, “You change all our pre-game protocols so that we don’t go through our typical routines as we would before a game because you have these elaborate introductions.” Furthermore, CP III also added, “We understand why you do it, but then you expect us then to go out and be in the mindset that we’re playing a typical basketball game.” It’s important to note here that, along with Paul, Draymond Green also seconded the motion by registering a like on the Instagram post.
After this comment went viral, it was not too late until a response from Adam Silver caught the headlines. Silver said, “The introduction is going to have to be a little shorter.” With that narration in mind, Silver might take responsibility for cutting short an entertaining halftime and introduction this time.
There are a lot of changes already in line. However, what’s the deal with replacing the past six-season streak of captains?

Major changes in the NBA All-Star game format
One of the major announcements about the probable changes is that the games will be held in the traditional east-west conference format. Not only that, the top vote-getters from both conferences will no longer serve as captains and draft players. This move has eroded the selection process that served as a legacy for the past few years.
Silver also pointed out that there will no longer be a target score in the fourth quarter. Along with that, the game will also return to the standard 12-minute, four-quarter contest. Although the changes made in the 2023 All-Star Game didn’t yield many results, with viewership dropping by 27%, it’s imperative for the players to hold out hope this season.
