The Damian Lillard saga has taken over the NBA world for the past few months. During NBA free agency, the 7-time NBA All-Star formally requested a trade out of the Portland Trailblazers, the team that drafted him in 2012. Moreover, he has a specific team in mind. It is the Miami Heat. Despite making his intentions known to the NBA world, there hasn’t been any progress regarding the trade deal.

A viral clip doing the rounds on the internet has dropped a major revelation. It looks like the Blazers GM’s attitude might force one of their biggest legends out of the team.

Damian Lillard might feel betrayed by the team soon

Dame Dolla is undoubtedly one of the greatest Trailblazers stars ever. However, his time in Portland might come to an untidy end. Popular YouTuber Eric Brandt revealed that the Blazers GM Joe Cronin will take offers from any team, not just the Heat like Lillard wants.

“Dame requested a trade [in June 26th meeting w/ Cronin]. They agreed to keep it private. Dame gave him a list of teams, then later found out Cronin wasn’t going to uphold his end of the deal. And said he didn’t care what his list was, and he’d trade him to whatever team offered the most”, revealed Brandt while talking with Torey Jones on the Blazers Uprise podcast. This might come as a major surprise for the 2013 Rookie of the Year. Lillard has made it quite well known that there is only one team that he wants to join, and it is the Miami Heat.

The Jimmy Butler-led side made the NBA Finals a few months ago. However, they lost to the Denver Nuggets. Adding Lillard to the team might take them across the line in the 2024 NBA Finals.

Dame will only report to two training camps

Although the Portland GM might listen to offers from teams around the league, a recent report revealed that there are only two teams Lillard will show up to training camp for. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, “Lillard will honor his contract and report to training camp for whatever team he is on at the time”. This came just weeks after another report, which revealed that Lillard would only show up to training camp if he is traded to the Miami Heat.
