When it comes to the salaries of professional athletes, fans get to see huge numbers every now and then. And the salaries of NBA players are no different. And it is none other than golf. Golf players get the biggest paychecks as professional athletes. And Tiger Woods’ earnings from this year just goes to show how much the difference is.

Now, according to the 2023 PIP results, Tiger Woods managed to make $12,000,000 last year. That is after he only played two PGA Tours. And adding on the events he did, the total comes up to $12,059,560.

That is more earnings than a whopping total of 421 NBA players. The total earned by Tiger Woods was through the Player Impact Program or PIP. First introduced in 2020-21, the PIP pays a player based on the positive interest he generates for the PGA Tour.
And Woods, who only played two tours this past year, still managed to surpass more than half of the NBA players’ salaries.
Obviously, superstars like Stephen Curry and LeBron James still earned way more than Woods. But that was after they played entire seasons, along with the playoffs as well.

Woods with an impressive track record
Tiger Woods was the second professional athlete to cross the $1 billion mark after Michael Jordan. But what was even more impressive was the fact that Woods managed to crack the $1 billion mark while being an active player.
Since then, many other players from different sports have joined Woods and MJ in the $1 billion club. But this recent feat of Woods earning more than half of the NBA, all the while participating in just two tours, is surely mind-blowing.
