Ongoing Fifa World Cup’s Heartfelt Cinderella Story Receives 1-Worded Message From Stephen Curry’s Wife Ayesha

In the thrilling FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, an extraordinary Cinderella story captured the hearts of sports fans around the world. The Jamaican women’s national team was once considered an underdog but now has risen to prominence and secured a spot in the Round of 16. With this feat, the “Reggae Girlz” has defied all the odds.

Their remarkable journey to this historic moment has garnered support from fans worldwide. Steph’s wife Ayesha Curry also has a one-worded message for the Jamaican team. 

Jamaica’s historic triumph against Brazil 

In a stunning match, the Jamaican team secured their place in the Round of 16 at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023. Their journey was arduous as they faced formidable opponents such as Brazil, France, and Panama. Against all odds, the Reggae Girlz became the first Caribbean nation to reach this stage in women’s soccer.

However, their path to victory wasn’t easy. Having faced opponents like Brazil and France in Group F, few expected Jamaica to make such significant strides in their debut appearance at the world cup.  

In the jaw-dropping match, they held Brazil scoreless until the last moment. Jamaican goalkeeper Sydney Schneider emerged as a hero when she saved not just one but two penalty kicks from Brazilian star Marta Vieira da Silva during stoppage time. The match was a draw, and it was the first time since 1995 that Brazil did not qualify.

Now the Jamaican team is set up for an exhilarating journey in the knockout stage.

The team raised against all odds and Ayesha’s message 

Ayesha Curry showed solidarity with the team. She herself comes from Jamaican roots, so the cause of the celebration was even more special for her. She shared the video of the Reggae Girlz celebrating after the win on her Instagram story by simply saying, ‘Incredible’. 

The journey was full of struggles for the team. They didn’t have the resources and finances to even qualify for the World Cup. Their story came alive after a GoFundMe campaign that raised over $50,000 to support the team’s participation in the World Cup.

In 2019 Stephen Curry, in partnership with Under Armour, provided support to the team by sponsoring the gear and equipment. Jamaica will now play on August 8 against the winner of Group H. As the tournament progresses, all the fans are rooting for them.
