The Boston Celtics have returned victorious yet again, creating a two-game winning streak after tonight’s game. After a 121-107 win against the Brooklyn Nets, the franchise was up against the Toronto Raptors for the night. And the Jayson Tatum and Jalen Brown-loaded Celtics did their magic back on the hardwood against Pascal Siakam and Co.
With the current and updated roster, the defensive duo of Brown and Tatum, along with the likes of Horford and White, the franchise seems to stand a chance to sweep the finals. Despite the disastrous loss against the Heat last season, this season holds new hope for the team. Let’s have a look at the crucial takeaways from the game.

1. The Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown duo will still be the C’s go-to weapon
Jaylen Brown is an inconsistent dribbler, and that’s an issue for the Celtics, it seems. In most of the stretches, the small forward resembles the likes of pre-injury Paul George and skillfully handles the franchise too. However, his game takes a complete 180 just in the next quarter, making him look uncomfortable on the spot. Often, a simple crossover done by him looks so “not-in-place”. However, the Celtics seem to stick with the Tatum-Brown duo for the rest of the season.
2. Cs won the trade market
Let’s address the elephant in the room. The Celtics fans were not happy about the Marcus Smart trade-off to the Grizzlies, just to acquire Kristaps Porzingis. However, the bigger picture of how Porzingis works for the overall standing of the team needs to see a ray of light. Taking excess minutes and load away from star players to enhance the team’s performance and the amped-up court depth is the foremost advantage of the trade. And on the other hand, the Jrue Holiday trade from Portland gives yet another angle to the probable Eastern Conference win for the franchise. The UCLA alum’s elite perimeter defense and the ability to make crucial stops in high-pressure moments drive the team to be a potential champion this season. With the defensive play of the duo, the team stands a better chance to qualify for the finals after last year’s loss to the Miami Heat.
3. Celtics will again be the biggest threat in the East
The addition of Holiday and Porzingis to the starting lineup is a dominant upgrade over Marcus Smart and Robert Williams III this season. The Unicorns have the best firepower in the league with Tatum, Brown, Al Horford (out due to a knee injury), and White, along with the defending duo. As the majority of key players are under the 30-year-old bar, the franchise has a lot of scope to make it to the finals.

After the trade-off of M. Smart, and Robert Williams III, the C’s have sacrificed a lot to form an unbeatable roster. However, there are a couple of concerns that might bother the Celtics by the time this offseason approaches.
Apart from the looming issue of Holiday’s one-year contract, the roster is becoming a little expensive for them to maintain. While Jaylen Brown was signed for $300 million, Jayson Tatum will be expecting a better contract this offseason. Apart from that, Porzingis’ $60 million extension and Al Harford’s declining ability to contribute as a stellar center add to the concern.

The question persists: whether the franchise can sustain the roster to register a win this season or whether this team will be forced to split up due to salary cap concerns? What are your views on this observation? Let us know in the comment section.
