The Los Angeles Lakers surprised everyone last season when they reached the Western Conference Finals. They defeated title contenders like the Grizzlies and the Warriors, before losing to the Denver Nuggets in the conference finals. This playoff run led to hope and optimism for the future in the Lakers’ fanbase. But their start to the new season hasn’t gone according to plan. They’ve suffered four losses in seven games, and face the Houston Rockets in their next game.
Injuries haven’t helped the Lakers’ cause, as key players such as Anthony Davis and Rui Hachimura remain doubtful for their next game.

How will the Lakers line up against the Rockets?
The Lakers have lost all the momentum they had generated from last season’s deep playoff run. They have started the season in a very disappointing fashion. The Lakers occupy the 10th spot in the Western Conference, with three wins and four losses. They have lost their last two games and face the Houston Rockets next at the Toyota Center. The upcoming game is highly anticipated due to it being the first meeting between LeBron James and Dillon Brooks since their fiery match-up in last season’s playoffs.

However, the Lakers will have their work cut out, as they would miss the services of various key players. Jarred Vanderbilt, Gabe Vincent, and Jalen Hood-Schifino will remain sidelined and aren’t expected to be match-fit for another couple of weeks. Anthony Davis also picked up a knock in his last game. The Lakers have listed him as questionable for the game against Houston.
However, Japanese international Rui Hachimura could make his long-awaited return, after he was sidelined due to eye contusion. He last played on 30th October, missing four crucial games. The Lakers are expected to start the game with D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, LeBron James, Rui Hachimura, and Anthony Davis.
