“Never Ever Go Against the Family”: Billionaire LeBron James Gives Old Friend’s Brand a Shout-Out After Rocking Its Clothes at Lakers’ Last Preseason Game

Over the past 20 years in the league, LeBron James has cemented his name as one of the best ever to play the game. His name is now constantly brought up in the GOAT debate. But what he has achieved off the court is nothing less than commendable. Creating a billion-dollar empire along with looking out for his friends, LBJ recently gave another old friend a shout-out on the platform he has built painstakingly over time.

During the last preseason game of the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James was seen endorsing his old friend’s brand, rocking his clothes, and putting his ‘family’ above all else. While the Lakers faced off against the Milwaukee Bucks in a 97-108 loss, James turned heads with his sartorial choices from a friend’s brand.

Despite finding success and glory beyond measure, LeBron James never forgot where he came from and the people that were with him during those tough times. One such friend is Edward Givens, better known as Ed ‘Smallz’ Givens. Givens is the co-founder and creative director of Layr Official, a clothing brand that was started back in 2017. Recently, James was seen donning Layr’s official clothing at the Los Angeles Lakers’ last preseason game at home.

The King did not suit up for the Lakers during that game but surely was dripping swag, wearing items from his friend’s clothing line. James was wearing a lightweight LO hoodie along with a short set that he paired with an uninterrupted “Chosen UN” snapback hat. James uploaded two images of his impeccable outfit on his Instagram stories with the caption that read, “Never ever go against the family.”

LeBron James may have gotten the golden ticket when he was drafted into the league. He managed to build a vast empire with smart investments over the course of his career. But he has also helped his friends make it big by collaborations and promoting their products or services. While Layr enjoys his backing, the brand has grown in popularity with other big names in basketball as well.

James isn’t the only one supporting Layr!

LeBron James not only wrote that caption highlighting family in his IG stories but also made sure to give the brand and his friend a shout-out by tagging them in both the images uploaded. But the NBA legend isn’t the only one who has endorsed the Layr brand.

James’ long-time friend and agent Rich Paul has often been seen donning Layr merchandise every now and then. Even Golden State Warriors veteran point guard Chris Paul has often rocked a few items from the Layr official brand. Given that James and Paul have been close friends since they entered the league, it is not a surprise to see him helping James’ friend out.
