The Olympics are less than a year away and the United States of America has suffered a major heartbreak ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Despite being fan favorites entering the FIBA World Cup 2023, Team USA crashed out of the tournament in the Semi-Finals when they lost to Germany. Days after this heartbreak, a major LeBron James update has given fans a reason to rejoice.

It looks like the 38-year-old is looking to lead his nation for one last time next year. Interestingly, this might give the four-time NBA champion a major edge over Michael Jordan.

Not only has James been one of the greatest NBA players ever, but he has also had a stellar international career. He has represented the USA in three Olympics and has brought gold on two occasions.

It looks like he has set his eyes on the 2024 Olympics Gold Medal. After all, this will take him ahead of GOAT rival Michael Jordan! The Chicago Bulls legend has two gold medals, much like King James. The 38-year-old has an excellent chance of surpassing MJ. Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, James is looking to commit to the National Team along with Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and other elite stars. “James has spoken to Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, Jayson Tatum, and Draymond Green, and they are all prepared to commit as well”, revealed The Athletic.

Although the Lakers superstar will be 39YO during the Olympics. And considering his longevity and incredible physical prowess, age shouldn’t be a problem for The King.

LeBron James set the league on fire during his first, 2003 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers. After winning the Rookie of the Year and averaging historic numbers for a rookie, James was called up to the National Team.

The USA sent an impressive team to Athens in 2004. Allen Iverson, Tim Duncan, Carmelo Anthony, and many more suited up for Team USA. Despite dominating the entire tournament, NBA legend Manu Ginobili handed the United States of America one of their worst losses. Facing them in the Semi-Finals, Argentina won the match 89-81. And, 19 years after this major setback, it looks like LeBron James is ready to win the third Gold Medal which he deserves, and move ahead of MJ.
