Russell Westbrook Unveils the Most “Annoying” Way of Uncovering the Truth About Santa: “I Heard Something…”

At some point in our lives, we always uncover the truth behind Santa Claus and who actually is responsible for our gifts. Now, we can either find it out gradually, at a point where our young minds can take it. Or we can find it the way Russell Westbrook did, which is the worst way possible, though.

And he cannot blame anyone but himself and his curious mind. When in discussion with his wife on ‘The Relationship Chronicles with Nina Westbrook’ podcast, the Clippers star opened up about how he would go about spending his holidays as a kid. He also indulged in the story of his discovery of the real Santa Claus.

Young Russell Westbrook finds the truth

Westbrook shared that when he was about to sleep, he heard a strange noise on Christmas Eve and went out of his room to investigate. And what he saw changed everything for him. He said, “I thought Santa was here dropping off the cookies in the milk … I saw my mom putting all the gifts and bringing the bike out and I was like, wow, there’s Santa.” And Nina added, “You ruined it for yourself. So annoying” 

Westbrook also shared how, as a kid, he would go to the Christmas tree first before doing anything else in the morning. And said that he tries to follow the same tradition with his three children as well. While his mother played Santa to him, Westbrook has taken it upon himself to don the hat of Father Christmas, not just for his family but for others as well.

Russell recently visited the Westbrook Academy and distributed gifts among the students. He interacted with the middle and high school students and gave gifts to spread the Christmas joy. Russell posted the message on Instagram and thanked the students, the academy, and the Los Angeles Clippers for making the event possible.

But the point guard does not play the Santa Claus for kids alone. Westbrook loves to be Santa even when it is not Christmas.

This September, as part of his efforts to bond better with his team, the 35-year-old gifted iPhone Pro Max to each of his teammates. Along with it were boxes of clothing from ‘Honor The Gift’, his fashion brand.
