Cleveland Cavaliers’ Donovan Mitchell is all set to face the Oklahoma City Thunder tomorrow. But amidst this, his rumor of joining his hometown team, the New York Knicks, persists. The 27-year-old was drafted by the Denver Nuggets in 2017 and immediately traded to the Utah Jazz. He is a four-time All-Star and one of the best young players in the NBA. He reportedly wants to play for the Knicks and the latter too trying their best to acquire him. According to sources, he will not be signing an extension with the Cavaliers this offseason.

Perry starts off by praising Mitchell and mentions how good a basketball player he is. But he raises a concern, that if the other trading team takes away two-thirds or three-fourths of other good talents from you and all your draft capital, will there be anything else left?

Perry further adds that if Donovan Mitchell was that singular force, who could turn games at will day in and day out, then it would have been justified. But that surely isn’t the case according to him. He says that if Mitchell was that singular force, the Utah Jazz would have been in the Conference Finals. Mitchell played for the Jazz for a total of 5 seasons.
