Months ago, a talented rising singer dropped a cover song that enthralled music lovers as much as the original did. One fan who is not over the performance is Shaquille O’Neal and he made sure his 32 million followers know about it. After all, the song Enisa Nakaj covered was by Eminem. Earlier this year, Big Diesel dropped a 5-man squad of the best rappers. He had former collaborator Lil Wayne running the point guard spot. But at the 2 was Detroit’s favorite, Marshall Mathers. So, when his famous single was covered online, Shaq had to tip his hat.
Fans are still not over the adorable encounter between the NBA analyst and the American Song Contest performer recently. And now they’re serving more sweet social media interactions with ‘DJ Diesel’ hyping the young songstress.

Shaquille O’Neal lauds Enisa’s cover song
When he’s not sharing funny little clips or sports-related content on Instagram, Shaquille O’Neal is showcasing talented artists who deserve to be seen. Currently, he’s hyping one little cover song that burst into popularity online. This is Enisa Nikaj’s impressive version of Eminem’s 2004 track, “Mockingbird.” Five years ago, the 27-year-old left fans awestruck with her performance of the rap ballad. Fans since then have been pleading her version of the song would officially drop as a track.
After many requests, she made it happen. Nikaj dropped her cover of “Mockingbird” on Spotify and Apple Music in June 2023. Three months later, Shaquille O’Neal is sharing the same post on his Instagram Stories to make sure the hype surrounding this talent doesn’t die down.

Eminem’s Grammy-nominated song, “Mockingbird” has a special place in melomaniacs’ hearts. The lyrics are dedicated to his daughter, Hailie, who he apologizes to for his failed marriage with her mother.
The sentimental significance aside, the song also highlights the Grammy-winner’s flawless delivery. Fans commended Enisa Nikaj for living up to the original “Mockingbird’s” emotions and still making it her own.
It’s probably why it got the Shaq seal of approval. The Los Angeles Lakers legend is such a good hype-man, he’s even sharing glimpses from Nikaj singing the national anthem in Washington DC.

It’s totally Shaq’s style to drop a performance from an artist that slipped under our radars. But his connection to Enisa Nikaj goes way back.
O’Neal is busy in the festival circuit this year, amping up EDM crowds under his rebranded musician persona, ‘DJ Diesel.’ While in Belgium, he had a wholesome meeting with fellow performer, Enisa. She shared the encounter with a photograph on her official Instagram page.
To say she was starstruck was an understatement. She even seemed honored that he recognized her first.
