A glimpse into the bygone camaraderie between them became evident during the Christmas of 1997. While the 6x champion gave him an earring designed as a replica of the NBA championship trophy adorned with diamonds, Jordan, who initially intended to gift him a box of cigars, had a change of heart. Instead, he chose to bestow upon Pippen one of his cherished possessions, a red Ferrari currently valued at $331,000, a long-desired item by Pippen. Reflecting on this gesture, MJ later shared“He wanted it so bad…It wasn’t a double locker, but it would do.”

In 1995, the iconic figure thrilled his fans with his return to the basketball scene. With just two words, “I’m Back,” he altered the entire trajectory of the game. Scottie Pippen, who had once been happy to see his teammate step away from the sport, was once again reunited with him to dominate the basketball court. Subsequently, the two, along with the Chicago Bulls, went on to secure three more championships. This was when they had a deeper appreciation for each other. Perhaps, this phase of hiatus in Jordan’s journey was necessary for him in achieving his three-peat.
