Are you even an NBA legend if you don’t have a fleet of cars to show off? Shaq has a record 30. Shaquille O’Neal has a very specific taste in cars. Most people with Shaq’s money would go for Bentleys and Mercedes. But he leans towards Rolls Royces more. And he also loves customizing his wheels to suit his larger-than-life personality. Big Diesel has been going to the best in the custom business since he was a young NBA upstart splurging all that contract money. He recently took a new project to them and it is of ‘Super’ proportions.

’90s kids would remember West Coast Customs jazzing up worn-out vehicles on MTV’s iconic show, Pimp My Ride. Shaq was their first celebrity client. Which means they know exactly what kind of custom work he wants.

Shaquille O’Neal gets a car makeover

Shaquille O’Neal has made a lot of money with basketball, music, and everything in between. And he flaunts that wealth with some jaw-dropping expenses. We’re not just talking about a $120,000 fish tank or a private yacht. He once notoriously bought three Bentleys the way regular people buy milk from the store. He’s built a fleet of 30 luxury cars of different makes and models, but his favorite will always be a shiny new Rolls Royce.

O’Neal loves the Royce so much, he once gifted a young LeBron James a Phantom over a decade ago. Now the TNT ‘Inside Guy’ has added a new Rolls to his collection – the Rolls Royce Cullinan that’s priced at around $350,000. But he loves his wheels to scream ‘Shaq.’ So he took his new car to his old friends at West Coast Customs.

They’ve had a professional relationship since the ’90s, when the car-customizing business opened for business. He’s their first celebrity client and have been renovating O’Neal’s cars for decades. This time they couldn’t resist sharing the new custom project on their YouTube channel.

The car came in a classic burgundy body. They know that’s Shaq’s favorite, so they retained it. They changed it up with the Mansory body kit which they also painted burgundy. Other than a few other exterior changes, the crown jewel was a special Big Diesel request.

O’Neal is a huge fan of the iconic superhero, Superman. He even has the recognizable Superman logo tattooed on his bicep, built a collection of rare Superman memorabilia, and has spaces in his home dedicated to the superhero. His cars also are a nod to the Man of Steel.

West Coast Customs did an aluminum-cut Superman logo on the Cullinan’s grille. The auto shop guys seemed to love this part of the tuner.

Shaq boasts his love for Rolls Royce

O’Neal once recalled a time he was in a car dealership. Mike Tyson also happened to be there shopping for a “couple of Bentleys.” The salesman apparently didn’t recognize Shaq. Instead, he looked up and won at Shaq’s tank top, shorts, and flip-flops, and questioned if the NBA titan could afford it.

It upset Shaqso much, that he bought three Bentleys on the spot. That definitely would’ve shut up the judgemental staff. It’s unknown if these three Bentleys are still in his collection.

By the most humble estimates, Shaq has owned at least 30 cars at the same time. But some reports claim that he has more. Almost all his cars have gone through a custom tuning too.
