When playing a close game, words and actions can escalate quickly. This often leads to unexpected consequences. This is precisely what happened with Draymond Green and Jordan Poole.

Draymond Green on the podcast with Robert Horry
Draymond addressed the remarks from Jordan’s father on social media. “This ain’t gonna get any more physical than what it is,” Draymond said on the podcast. Competitive sports are known to get heated on the court. Threats and aggression are almost never intended toward a particular person. It is the heat of the moment that can make anyone spiral out of control.
Despite all that happened, Horry was quick to say that Draymond’s actions were in the wrong. He also emphasized the need for restraint and keeping a cool mind during intense matchups. He claimed that personal differences should not matter in the first place, what should matter is the team spirit among the athletes.

“You still got some hatred for Draymond because I know that was my child,” Rob said. The seven-time NBA champion also empathized with Jordan’s father. He said that Jordan’s father, Anthony, is like any other parent. It shouldn’t come as a surprise if he was fiercely protective of their child in such a situation.
Further in the podcast, Draymond talked about the importance of moving forward and not allowing negative emotions to take over. “Just let it die out and move on,” he said. This comes after he punched Jordan Poole. Some might even say that he is hoping for closure.

Both the players also talked about the unpredictability of life. “You never know when someone might cross paths.” This comes as a reference to Jordan’s father being angry with Draymond, suggesting that things might get ugly if the two ever cross paths. They also talked about how Rob punched a kid 5 years ago.

While Rob recognized Draymond to be on the wrong side, he did not feel the need for a public apology to Jordan’s father. For sports stars, it often gets difficult to separate their personal and professional lives. Leaving less room for making amends, especially when emotions run high.
Previously, Jordan Poole’s father took to Twitter, expressing his frustration and complaining that Draymond never apologized. Social media often escalates situations, putting the players’ actions under constant criticism.
