In fact, John Cena’s actioner with martial arts legend Jackie Chan has taken the number one spot on Netflix. Hidden Strike’s production was not entirely seamless, but it all paid off in the end. That said, WWE celebrated John Cena’s achievement on social media.
Although John Cena is riding a wave of success in Hollywood, we must admit that much of his success can be attributed to WWE. Likewise, John Cena was instrumental in the success of Vince McMahon’s company. It’s like a door that swings both ways.

WWE celebrates John Cena’s amazing Netflix feat
Netflix released Hidden Strike on July 29th. Interestingly, the Jackie Chan starrer took the top spot on Netflix’s top 10 trending list within 24 hours of its release. The film follows the mission of two ex-special forces soldiers who face danger as they travel along Baghdad’s “Highway of Death” while escorting a group of civilians.

Taking to Twitter, WWE felicitated John Cena by sharing a gif in his honor. The tweet read, “Congratulations to 16-time World Champion @JohnCena on Hidden Strike, the NUMBER ONE movie in the world and in The US on @netflix!”

It’s worth noting that the Scott Waugh film has gone through several name changes since its production. The film went from being called Project X to Project X-Traction to Snafu to finally being titled Hidden Strike. The film originally wrapped up its production in 2018. However, the release of the movie was delayed due to the global pandemic.
Nevertheless, John Cena’s film is currently sitting at the top of Netflix’s list. Aside from the success of Hidden Strike, John Cena’s Peacemaker season 2 is also reportedly in motion.

Besides, Hidden Strike, Cena is involved in another project alongside Jackie Chan.

John Cena and Jackie Chan have joined several other stars like Seth Rogen, Nicolas Cantu, and others as voice actors in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.

The film is set to release on August 2, 2023. In the film, John Cena is the voice of Rocksteady. On the other hand, Jackie Chan is the voice of Splinter. Interestingly, former World Champion Sheamus also played the role of Rocksteady in the 2016 film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.
Nonetheless, good things are lined up for the Peacemaker actor. We will have to wait and see what the future holds for John Cena in Hollywood.
