Brandi Rhodes Disregards Husband Cody Rhodes’ Role in Getting Popular Wrestling Couple Together

A power couple, Cody Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes have not only worked together professionally but also out of the ring by playing matchmaker. The married couple had a huge role to play in setting up Matt Cardona and Chelsea Green, leading to their eventual marriage. However, a recent interview brought out Brandi’s thoughts on how her husband doesn’t deserve as much credit as her.

Chris Van Vliet recently shared a snippet of his interview with Matt Cardona on X. While sharing the clip, Vliet credited both Cody and Brandi Rhodes for setting up Green and her now-husband together on their first date. But Brandi believes she is the only one who deserves the praise.

Cody Rhodes is robbed of credit by wife

While talking to Matt Cardona, Chris Van Vliet mentioned The American Nightmare’s role in making him and his wife meet. Cardona corrected Vliet’s claim by giving Brandi her due credit. After Vliet posted the same clip on his X, saying how Cody and Brandi Rhodes set the couple up together, Brandi retaliated.

Poking fun, the former pro wrestler retweeted the clip, saying, “Let’s be real. It was all Brandi. People just like to give Cody credit for my💩 ’cause he’s nicer than me😂.”

The tweet elicited responses from both Cardona and Vliet, with Cardona saying, “Oh Lawd!”. Now it’s up to Cody to refute the claim.

But the former announcer was not making claims out of nowhere. In fact, Matt Cardona’s confession gave us a small glimpse of why Brandi said what she said.

Did Cody Rhodes really have no part to play in the story?

In the clip, the 38-year-old wrestler can be seen recalling the incident. He mentioned that the couple were dining with Cardona one day when they happened to be in the same city at the same time. While on the table, Brandi mentioned Chelsea Green, a girl working backstage, who was single at the time. Green also did not like being single, making it the perfect opportunity for Cardona to swoop in, which he did so by sliding into her DMs.

The story narrated by Cardona during the interview suggests that Brandi played a major role in the story while Cody was probably sitting at the table, not contributing much to the topic. Considering this, his wife doesn’t think he deserves enough credit.
