When it comes to the original Holywood filmmaking, very few names are bigger than Christopher Nolan in the present day. The legendary filmmaker rose to the height of fame with the epic ”Dark Knight” trilogy and a series of blockbusters. His WWII survival thriller “Dunkirk.” earned him the first best director Oscar nomination back in 2018. Now, sitting atop the industry, the $250 million director’s currently eying the success of his upcoming Oppenheimer that will hit the theatre on the 21st of July. However, it seemed like Nolan got into some issues with wrestler-turned-actor John Cena’s next release Barbie as the date collides with his $100 million movie.
But on the flip side, another wrestling heavyweight who jumped ship in the glamour industry long ago, Dwayne The Rock Johnson‘s go-to franchise, Fast and Furious, recorded a special spot in Nolan’s heart.

Christopher Nolan had a serious admiration for Dwayne Johnson’s go-to franchise
Dwayne Johnson’s polarised feud with Vin Diesel resulted in his absence from the Fast saga in the ninth installment. He even promised not to resume his alliance with the franchise. However, much to the delight of ‘The Rock’ and Fast fans, Johnson reconciled with Diesel and announced his return to the franchise as Hobbs in Fast X. While we look forward to seeing Johnson in a spin-off movie of the franchise soon, the icing on the cake came in the form of the approval of one of the biggest players of the industry, Christopher Nolan.

Dwayne Johnson’s co-actor, Emily Blunt, along with Cillian Murphy, and Matt Damon joins Christopher Nolan to unleash ‘Oppenheimer’ in a new light during a recent interview with Hollywood Reporter. They discussed a wide range of topics, interesting behind-the-scenes facts about the movie, and Nolan’s legacy as a director as well. But there is one most popular six billion franchise that Nolan himself admires to the core. It’s nothing other than the epic Fast and Furious, of course.
During the interview, the $80 million worth Blunt mentioned, ”He(Nolan) watches every single movie of every type of genre. You never hear him s**t-talk other people’s movies.”

However, this is not the first time Nolan unleashed his fanboy self in public for the worldwide famous franchise.
Christopher Nolan has been a fanboy of Fast and Furious since their third installment
Nolan’s films are a far cry from most action blockbusters. They mostly deal with complex concepts, like time inversion. On the other end of the spectrum are the Fast & Furious movies, which are fun, spiced-up, over-the-top action blockbusters dismissing logic for the sake of full-on entertainment. But that difference in the genre didn’t refrain Nolan from being in complete awe of the fan-favorite franchise house.

His love for Fast movies dates back to 2020 when he singled out Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift movie as being original and epic, unlike many other franchise products. Nolan, terming himself an original recipe guy, went on to say, ”I’ve got a very soft spot for Tokyo Drift, actually. And then the skill as Justin Lin’s iterations, as they got crazier and bigger and crazier and bigger, they became something else, but something else kind of fun. The fun thing about those movies is even as they’ve gotten bigger and bigger and bigger.”
He stated he personally loves that film very much.
