Time and again we have seen that before any big match, the wrestlers’ families come to support them. We saw the same thing happen when Sami Zayn’s wife and family were on the ringside during his match at the Elimination Chamber. So, for Cody Rhodes, we can expect his mother and his wife to be present at ringside as well. But his main event match isn’t the only thing that they’re celebrating this weekend.

This week is turning out to be a big one for the Rhodes family. On top of seeing Cody Rhodes, perform in the biggest match in his career at WrestleMania, they just welcomed a newborn.

Cody Rhodes’ family welcomes a new life in their family

Just a few hours ago, Dustin Rhodes announced that his daughter had given birth to a baby boy. This means that the former Goldust is a grandfather now. He also confirmed that both his daughter and his grandson, Rowan, are perfectly fine and healthy. The mother, Dakota Runnels, while not a wrestler, also works with AEW as a photographer.

The Rhodes family, as Cody Rhodes has made it clear, is also a legacy family in WWE and wrestling. Starting with his father, Dusty Rhodes, to his brother and himself and his wife, all have been involved in pro wrestling. So, adding a new member to the bunch is an auspicious moment for the family.

Cody Rhodes’ personal feud with Roman Reigns

The feud with Roman Reigns and the buildup for it has been very personal. Both Reigns and Paul Heyman didn’t back down from mentioning Rhodes’ late father, the American Dream, Dusty Rhodes. But Cody Rhodes didn’t flinch, even a single time. His story has always been to finally capture the big one at the biggest stage of them all.

But ‘The American Nightmare’ did not give in to it and held off on getting his hands on Reigns. Alternatively, Rhodes took to helping Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens reunite, leading to bringing a real threat into The Bloodline’s corner.

If Rhodes wins the WWE Undisputed Universal title in the main event of WrestleMania, it would certainly make for an amazing week for the Rhodes family. Finally achieving his father’s dream and proving that indeed “wrestling has more than one royal family”, will be something that will go down in history.
