WWE has had a strict set of rules, as the fans can recall. It has been the leading sports entertainment promotion for a long while now. Regardless of the rules that the company has set for its wrestlers, some of the segments manage to get through. For example, the recent Raw segment between two WWE superstars went viral as soon as it aired. However, the technicalities behind it will make you question the rule set that the promotion has.

AEW star Dax Harwood recently came on a podcast to talk about various topics related to his career. He was also asked to shed some light on some ongoing WWE events and he chose to talk about Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.

AEW star shares opinion on Roman Reigns’ dialogues

Although the former WWE star mentions that he is not all caught up with WWE, the host still went ahead to ask him an interesting question. In the Raw event, WWE featured Reigns and Rhodes in a promo. The two stars faced each other in a battle of words where The Tribal Chief completely destroyed his opponent with personal comments.

During the mouth battle, Reigns accused Rhodes of always running away. He also indirectly referenced AEW by saying, “you left, started a promotion you couldn’t even get over in.” This obviously made for absolutely amazing television. When Harwood was asked about it, he had a surprising reaction.

The unaware FTR member learned about the incident via the host. While admitting that the subtle reference was indeed hilarious, Harwood went on to say, “that’s also surprising that WWE goes that tongue-in-cheek. Usually, they don’t allow people to say things like that, but that’s pretty cool.

The AEW star shed light on how WWE doesn’t tolerate cross-promotional references. However, for a promo and storyline that is going to prove beneficial for them, they made an exception.

In fact, the story didn’t just end with a reference, Rhodes promoted it further in an interview. Stardust shed light on the ‘reasoning’ of why he had to keep running away. This shows that even though some things are against the guidelines that the wrestlers have been provided with, exceptions are always made if the performance is as remarkable as the two.
