From the 1980s to the present day, Hulk Hogan has gotten himself in quite a bit of trouble. Hogan made some mistakes in the early stages of his career and paid for them dearly. But none of his mistakes landed him in as deep water as the lawsuit by Gawker Media. Caught in a case that could’ve ended his career, the Hulkster was in trouble, but there was always a beacon of hope.
Peter Thiel supported Hogan’s case by pumping millions into the case. However, there was one person who worked from the shadows. He helped Hogan’s case so much that without him, Hogan wouldn’t enjoy his retirement at this moment.

Who is the ‘secret weapon’ that helped Hulk Hogan?
Back in the day, in 2018, BuzzFeed News did an article on Peter Thiel and Gawker Media’s legal battle. They dived deep down into the turning point in Thiel’s victory and revealed that it was Mr. A or his real name, Aron D’Souza, who was the orchestrator who turned the tides.
According to the report, D’Souza met up with Thiel in 2011. Thiel wanted to take out Gawker Media in 2007 after they released blogs about his personal life and other matters. So D’Souza gave Thiel the advice to start a company to hire lawyers to go after Gawker.

So after Gawker Media released Hogan’s tape in 2012, he approached the wrestler. It is here, when D’Souza, as the report states, “met with law firms, asking if they would be willing to take on cases against a large media organization on behalf of a group of wealthy individuals.”

This led to D’Souza meeting up with Charles Harder, who was Hogan’s lawyer in the 2016 trial of the case. Hogan got out of the lawsuit unharmed in the following weeks. This was not only a victory for Hogan but also for Harder and D’Souza.
So, incidentally, if D’Souza hadn’t been scouting for Harder, Hogan might not have gotten the best lawyer in town to take down Gawker and get out of the lawsuit. So, it’s thanks to Mr. A, as Thiel’s circle calls him, that one of the greatest wrestlers alive is in a far better place right now.
