Cody Rhodes has a habit of fighting injuries right before an important PLE match. During last week’s Monday Night Raw, he came out to sign a contract for a singles match against Damian Priest. After the successful signing of his match that is scheduled for Crown Jewel, Rhodes was ambushed by The Judgment Day.
Since he had received a severe injury to his ankle during the promo, he might not be fit enough for his upcoming PLE match. This is where the 43-year-old WWE legend comes in. There might be a possibility that someone could show up in place of Cody Rhodes if he is not able to compete, at least from a kayfabe point of view. This would also mean that he could also be facing Priest during Crown Jewel.

Is Cody Rhodes getting replaced?
The last time Rhodes endured an injury before a match was before SummerSlam and competed against Brock Lesnar. This time The Judgment Day injured one of his ankles using a foldable chair. So, returning to Crown Jewel might be difficult for him to achieve, leaving a vacuum that Randy Orton can easily fill.
Apart from the fact that a real-life ankle injury is difficult to quickly heal from, we can assume that this kayfabe move could also be a way for WWE to foreshadow the arrival of The Viper.
The last time we saw him in the ring was in 2022, so fans have been long waiting to see him in action. Considering the buildup among fans and how much of a hold he has on the audience, WWE might have pulled off the kayfabe injury just to fit in Randy Orton’s glorified arrival.

Even the reports that came in a few days ago, suggested that we might get to see the 14-time World Champion soon, maybe even at Crown Jewel. But could tonight’s Monday Night Raw be it?

The Stamford-based company is planning on fully seizing the opportunity of his return. The same reports also suggested that we can expect to see Orton as soon as mid-November. Hence, the wrestling promotion might just tease fans by reintroducing Randy Orton and then inviting him to fend off The Judgment Day in Saudi Arabia.
