A major title match in WWE NXT New Year’s Evil has been scrapped tonight due to the absence of Ilja Dragunov. The injured wrestler was set to take on Trick Williams for the NXT Championship after clinching the opportunity by emerging victorious in the Men’s Iron Survivor match earlier this month.

His tiff with gaining medical clearance is understandable after what he put his body through in the December 19 episode of WWE NXT. That said, the one who caused him misfortune, Ridge Holland justified himself in a recent Twitter clip.

Due to the prolonged aftereffect of the event, Dragunov missed out a massive match tonight. That said, Holland gave himself the clean chit.

In a detailed explanation of the situation, he noted, ”Whatever happened happened. There was no melicious intent there was no ill will, at the end of the day I am a dad I am a friend I am not a monster am not someone who goes out and aimlessly tries to hurt people tries to ruin someone’s career because I know how it feels like I know how fast things can be taken away.”
