Being at the helm of the WWE for decades, Vince McMahon has the deciding authority to push high-potential superstars. If we look back at every Vince guy, even if each one of them didn’t come out as the poster boy of WWE, they contributed much to the business, proving their overall reliability to McMahon. After all, it’s tough to gain the chairman’s trust, and it’s tougher to get the push without his trust.

Among dozens of criticisms, Vince McMahon received throughout his controversial career, one of the crucial ones is his bias toward some quote-unquote top guys of the company. McMahon popularised the trend of prioritizing them over other stars. It certainly didn’t sit well with many superstars on the roster. Fans also often criticizehim on social media regarding this practice. That said, Vince McMahon does it completely unapologetically.

Bully Ray weighs in on Vince McMahon’s notorious trait

To justify this stance, you need not go to very early ages stars. You can simply look at the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns, who is a live example of Vince’s favorite guy. While currently Reigns has been on a roll in terms of his public image but it was not the same always. Fans rejected his initial push as a babyface. But it was McMahon who tirelessly protected Reigns at all costs.

According to WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray, Vince McMahon has been equally protective about every top guy in the company, even if people bury him for that.

During the latest episode of the Busted Open Radio, Ray noted, ”Vince McMahon, don’t give a s**t about what’s going on in social media. And when it comes to a Vince top guy, Vince will do whatever it takes to insulate that top guy and protect that top guy.”

While Vince McMahon tried hard to push his favorite superstars to the top, a few of his choices proved to be a massive flop.

Vince McMahon’s notorious top guy push didn’t work for this star

The present executive director of WWE has a pretty unique taste even it comes to promoting wrestlers to championship status. He has a strong inclination towards big-muscle guys. The former Intercontinental Champion Ahmed Johnson perfectly fits this trait. McMahon pushed the hulking monster even to the point of giving him the coveted Intercontinental Championship.

But he proved to be one of the lesser famous champions in history. With sub par in-ring skills and poor mic work , Johnson failed to live up to the expectation of McMahon.

Now we need to see if Vince, 77, will insert himself in the creative more actively after the recent Raw involvement came to light or not.
