The way we see pro wrestling stars on screen can differ from their real-life persona. The intimidating demeanor does not stay for long, especially when they are around their loved ones. Wrestling fans saw a similar example recently when two of the most intimidating pro wrestling stars showed their soft side for each other on social media. AEW star Buddy Matthews gave a shout out to his fiancé Rhea Ripley on Instagram. Her three-word reply to this shoutout made it obvious that she broke character.

Matthews issues a loving shout out for Ripley

The pro wrestling community knows that these two mean killing machines are engaged to each other. Taking to Instagram, Matthews posted a photo on his story in which a pink-colored Dachshund dog can be seen. Below that he wrote, “Me when I got to see @ rhearipley_wwe the first time in a week” implying his excitement after seeing Ripley amidst their busy schedules.

Replying to this gesture of her fiancé, Ripley replied to the photo on her story. “Excitement was real,” she wrote, adding a teary-eyed emoji at the end of the sentence. This showed that the feeling was mutual.

There was a time when Dominik Mysterio didn’t use to win every match on Monday Night RAW. WWE had a lot of segments involving just him and Rhea Ripley. This indeed did fuel all the fan theories about them. However, with these revelations from both of them, fortunately, these rumors have stopped.

Rhea Ripley and Buddy Matthews met each other in 2021 when Matthews was a part of WWE. However, even after leaving WWE, Matthews and Ripley stayed in touch until they officially became a couple back in 2022. They got engaged recently in August 2023 and are set to tie the knot soon.
