“They Needed to Revive Me… I Was Alone” – Former WWE Superstar Reveals Horrific Health Conditions During COVID-19 Which He Hid From His Parents

The COVID-19 pandemic came bearing sad news for the entire world. The disease affected a lot of families with many losing their lives during this global crisis. Though many people fell victim to the disease, some fought their way back to being healthy.

A similar incident happened with a former WWE superstar. During COVID, Kalisto, who now goes by the name, Samuray Del Sol, escaped death a couple of years ago. In a recent interview, he detailed his illness journey to the fans.

Former WWE star Kalisto speaks about his near-death experience

While speaking up on a recent podcast episode of The Sessions with Renee Paquette, ‘The King of Flight’ opened up about the struggles he faced because of COVID illness. And the show host Paquette could empathize with her guest as she, herself, was a victim of the disease.

The 36-year-old star stated that after getting released from the Stamford-based promotion, COVID hit him. He confessed that as a quarantine measure at the hospital; the doctors didn’t allow anyone near him. This made him feel very lonesome. He said, “It was so scary because I was alone. Nobody, not even my wife, could sit there for me. It was bad.”

The 5’6 pro wrestler said he had a terrible experience in the hospital. He mentioned that his heart stopped beating and the doctors almost put him in a coma to bring him back to life. However, his wife refused the doctors to put him in a coma, fearing that he might never come back.

“At the time in the hospital, they were going to put me in a coma. And my wife said no. He’s not going to come back, he’s going to die, like his heart is stopping. They needed to revive me. I was like, what the hell is going on? They said I came back. My heart stopped, and I came back,” the pro wrestling star said.

The Chicago-born athlete confessed matters wouldn’t have worsened if he had admitted himself to the hospital on time. He didn’t want to pay the hospital bills, so he waited two weeks before getting hospitalized. From coughing up blood to passing out, it was a scary experience for him.

The former WWE United States Champion also said that he didn’t mention his illness to anybody. He even left his parents in the dark about it. When his parents got to know about their son’s illness, they were furious with him.

After spending two and a half months in the ER, the hospital finally discharged Kalisto. And he was glad to be home and become healthy again.
