The WWE Universe is habituated to getting surprising news now and then. Especially when Vince McMahon is back in the company playing his role. These sudden changes sometimes excite fans but oftentimes end up disappointing them. One such recent change is the rebranding of its upcoming King & Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event by the promotion that left its fans dejected. 

WWE changed the name of its King & Queen of the Ring premium live event

Taking to social media, the promotion recently announced its change of plans. The company initially titled the upcoming PLE happening on May 27 in Saudi Arabia, as the King & Queen of the Ring. However, it replaced the event with one of its other premium live events, namely Night of the Champions.

The official Tweet by WWE said, “The May 27th Premium Live Event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia will now be WWE Night of Champions!

Now, you must be wondering the reason behind such a rebranding, as it’s pretty unusual for the company to revive an event last held in 2015. Unfortunately, there’s no definite reason given for it, till now. However, the news has given rise to uncountable speculations.

Whatever the reason is, this sudden change by the company has not gone down well with the fans. 

Fans are fired up yet again against Vince McMahon for the unusual decision

The official announcement by WWE on the matter attracted much attention from its fans. Even though there’s no clarity given on the format of the premium live event, fans are already enraged about it. As if the ongoing protest against Mr. McMahon wasn’t enough, the promotion fired up the fans a little more. 

It’s evident that with every decision WWE is making currently, fans are getting upset even more. They already got #FireVince trending on Twitter to stop McMahon from influencing the creative in any way. And this change in the name of the event made fans criticize it harshly. 

Some dropped their suggestions that they felt could have been implemented.

Whatever the reason behind this surprising change in the event, it is worth noting that this will be the first Night of Champions to live stream on Peacock in the United States. With doors open for more speculations, it will be interesting to see what unfolds at the event in Saudi Arabia both for WWE and its fans.
