WWE Legend Confesses He ‘Almost Cried’ After Watching Cody Rhodes Lose to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39

After starting 2023 to a high start, the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes’ is going through a tough period in the ring. Despite winning the 2023 Royal Rumble and headlining WrestleMania 39 against Roman Reigns, Rhodes failed to capture the world title.

The next night on WWE RAW, Cody Rhodes would undergo a massive beatdown at the hands of Brock Lesnar. The RAW after ‘Mania would end with Cody Rhodes lying and withering in pain.

A mentor to Rhodes, and a friend to his father, DDP aka Diamond Dallas Page recently opened up on the loss of Rhodes to Reigns at ‘Mania. When TMZ came in contact with Page at the Los Angeles Airport and enquired about his reactions, he let it out.

Page was devastated at the loss, and let TMZ know how much upset he was. DDP was emotional at Rhodes’ return to WWE. He also spoke about his legacy, and how he created AEW and came back to WWE to finish his story. He also reiterated how his father would have been proud of his son’s performance, and there this no reason he should be upset about this.

DDP was also an integral part of the Rhodes entourage during his stint in AEW.

He said, “Is there a point I can cry? ” He described how he had known Rhodes from his childhood, and always knew how he was destined for great things.

While fans were waiting for The American Nightmare to finally finish the story and capture the WWE title, they might now need to wait a bit longer. Diamond Dallas Page is sure of Rhodes winning it later sometime, and this is all part of his story.

However, after Rhodes was attacked by Brock Lesnar on the RAW after the Mania episode., it seems he would be involved in a feud with The Beast Incarnate for the foreseeable future.
