“We Gotta Get Ready” – Amidst the Jey Uso-Roman Reigns War, John Cena’s Former Opponent Pitches Himself as the New Tribal Chief

Roman Reigns and Jey Uso‘s story arc took The Bloodline through a dramatic turn. While The Tribal Chief got to retain his title, heartbroken, Jey left the promotion. But this did not eliminate the fight to stay on top as the Anoa’i chief. Things are looking far from over for Reigns because his title as WWE’s Universal Champion puts him in a vulnerable position where all the other stars are also eyeing it down.

In a recent interview, John Cena‘s former rival didn’t hold back from mentioning how he looks forward to sharing the ring with Reigns in a singles match. He was not merely talking about a non-title match. Instead, Austin Theory mentioned exactly what he wants to snatch away from The Tribal Chief.

After John Cena, Austin Theory eyes another top WWE star

At one point in time, The Prototype used to be the face of WWE. Theory didn’t hesitate in putting him away as a rival. And now, he wishes to take on the current face of the promotion for his title. The former WWE US Champion appeared in an interview recently and shared how he would like to see his future in WWE. When one of the co-hosts asked Theory if he has the desire to face another top WWE star, his wish was surprising.

The former WWE champion confidently said, “For me, I would say, my next one, Roman Reigns. That’s definitely the next person I’d like to be in the ring with. Yeah, I mean, we gotta get ready for Tribal Theory.”

Even though he has already beaten a WWE legend, the 26-year-old is not content yet and wants to challenge another superstar for his reputed title.

Before mentioning who he would like to face next, ‘The Unproven One’ also had some words to say about his former opponent. So, he went on to confess something he hadn’t gotten the chance to talk about since their match at WrestleMania 39.

The story between the two wrestlers started when Theory watched The Prototype on his screen. The wrestling prime of the now-Hollywood actor mesmerized and inspired the kid from Georgia. So, when asked about his thoughts on the WrestleMania match during the interview, Theory called it a ‘full circle’.

The young wrestler liked standing on the opposite ends of a ring with his childhood hero. “Man, there’s no better place. Getting to do that in front of my entire family in Los Angeles in the ring with John Cena. That was a really cool moment,” confessed Austin before talking about Roman Reigns.
