UFC Champion Shared His Hilarious Story About Seeing John Cena for the First Time Involving Bathroom Doors and Coffee Shops

John Cena is among the most recognizable stars in the WWE. With over two decades dedicated to the company and a number of massive box office blockbusters under his belt, Cena has garnered a massive fan following, especially while out in public. However, for one UFC champion, the first time he met Cena emerged as a hilarious story.

The UFC and WWE are now under the same banner of TKO Holdings.

Sean O’Malley did not recognize John Cena at a coffee shop

Sean O’Malley is the current UFC Bantamweight Champion and ranks #6 in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings. While on The MMA Hour, O’Malley recounted his hilarious encounter with Cena for the first time. The encounter was shared as a fond memory of the UFC champion.

“John Cena, I was at the coffee shop out by my house,” O’Malley started his story. He recounted how the two were in a single-bathroom coffee shop, and both had to use it at the same time. “We had the handle at the same time. I don’t think he knows who I am, and I couldn’t put it together right away,” O’Malley continued.

O’Malley claimed that he did not recognize Cena until it was too late. “It hit me. ‘That’s John Cena,’ O’Malley said. Cena was in his hometown of Arizona for an event. O’Malley said that he noticed a billboard outside that promoted the event that Cena was there for.

O’Malley debuted at UFC 26 in 2017 against Terrion Ware. He won the fight based on a unanimous decision. He went on to win his fights till UFC 29 in 2018 when he was suspended for anti-doping charges.

Cena’s co-star Margot Robbie had a funny story too

Cena worked with actress Margot Robbie on James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. During this time, she talked about her love for the WWE, Cena, and even The Undertaker. Robbie said, “I watched WWE when I was growing up.”

“And I remember thinking, ‘I wonder if now that I’m going to work with John Cena?” Now, with The Suicide Quad movie and the confirmation that Cena is part of Gunn’s new DCU, fans are hoping to see the two reunite on screen.
