Even though he is no longer a Ferrari driver, the Italian masses still love Kimi Raikkonen. To this day, the veteran Finn remains as Ferrari’s last Formula One world champion. At this year’s Italian Grand Prix, Ferrari organised an event calling all its drivers at the “90 Years of Emotion” event in Milan.

The clamouring Italian fans came out in droves, clad in red to support home team, Ferrari. Naturally, the current duo Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc received deafening cheers. However, they were also chanting “Kimi, Kimi, Kimi”, when Raikkonen took to the stage waving to them. It was surreal and the videos below capture the moment perfectly.

Kimi Raikkonen is the kind of driver who is impossible to hate, be it among drivers or the fans. Also joining Kimi Raikkonen at the event was his teammate Antonio Giovinazzi, a Ferrari junior driver himself. In addition to the four current drivers, several former Ferrari stars turned up, as well as the Ferrari Academy drivers.

The Iceman, as he is popularly referred to by his fans, is among F1’s most popular drivers. He is known for his antics both on and off the circuit. While on the circuit  he is fast, unpredictable and daring, he is a completely changed person when not in the car and known to be one of the least bothered drivers in the paddock. He has a history of being carefree and showing little to no concern of the media and their silly questions.

But no matter which part of the world he goes, he finds Finnish supporters waving their flags in the stands often wearing their Ferrari tshirts remembering the glory days of the past. Till the time Maranello doesn’t get another world champion, Kimi will forever remain a fan favourite. After him many have tried to achieve the world championship with Ferrari with Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso coming close but still being unable to dethrone Raikkonen from his feat.
