Colby Covington Fires Back as Kamaru Usman Offers to Replace Nate Diaz For the BMF Title Fight

By 11 months ago

Nate Diaz shocked the world with the announcement of him pulling out of the main event of UFC 244. Recently Diaz claimed that he failed a drug test as USADA found an elevated level of testosterone in his test results and hence he won’t be competing against Jorge Masvidal for the BMF title. Although UFC has not made any announcement regarding the match being called off, Kamaru Usman has already put his name to fight for the BMF title. Well, Colby Covington and Ben Askren joined forces to mock Usman on this one.

Responding to Nate Diaz pulling out from UFC 244, Kamaru Usman said: “I’ll fight in Nov and Dec. that’s what a BMF does now come see me!!”

That does not make sense at all as Kamaru Usman is scheduled to defend his welterweight title against Colby Covington in the main event of UFC 245 in December this year. Colby Covington and Ben Askren were not going to let this pass by as both of them as they mocked Usman for claiming to replace Nate Diaz for the BMF title fight.

Former UFC interim welterweight champion, Colby Covington said:

“FAKE NEWS. Quit trying to fight journeymen Marty. Let Masvidal fight another .500 fighter or Leon Scott. You got a date with daddy December 14th. And we’re not talking about the one in Federal Penitentiary.”

Ben Askren who takes on Demian Maia on 26th October also fires back at Usman saying:

“Marty is lying. He won’t fight Jorge”
