Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were putting up a huge partnership: Michael Gough

Virat and Rohit form a great partnership on the match field and it gets difficult for the opponent team to cope up with it. Recalling an incident from an India vs Australia match, Gough revealed that Finch asked for tips on how to get the two legends out.

Michael told Wisden Cricket Monthly, “I remember a match between India and Australia. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were putting on a huge partnership. I stood next to Aaron Finch at square-leg and he said to me, during the game, how it was unbelievable to watch these two great players.”

He added, “Then he asked me how I would bowl at them! I looked at him and said, ‘I’ve got enough on my plate, you’re on your own there’,”

Michael Gough denied disclosing the details of that match. However, we can predict that he was talking about the last ODI match played between the two teams this year in January in Bangalore. Kohli (89) and Rohit (119) had shared a 137-run match-winning partnership for the second wicket in that match. Australia had visited India for a three-match ODI series in January. India had won the bilateral series by 2-1. Notably, Michael Gough had officiated for two out of the three matches.
