The famous Bollywood singer, Kanika Kapoor has been placed under massive scrutiny after her COVID-19 test came positive. This has led to many famous political personalities go in self-isolation after they came in contact with the singer at a party.

The coronavirus scare has created a situation of standstill in the world. All the major countries across the globe have been locked down. This has also affected the sporting fraternity as all the tournaments and events have either been suspended or canceled. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, BCCI also abandoned the IPL 2020 and the South Africa tour of India. As a result, the proteas returned to their country without playing even a single ball. The series was called off to prevent the further spread of the virus in the players and the audience.

South African team’s interaction with Kanika Kapoor

However, there is a piece of bad news for the South African cricket team. A CCTV footage confirmed that the team was staying in the same hotel as Kanika Kapoor in Lucknow. There are chances that players came in contact with the singer. South African squad was there in Lucknow for the second ODI match with India. Though the series got suspended, the team resided in the hotel for a few days before traveling back to their country. Kanika Kapoor arrived from London and was tested positive for the virus this week.

Officials are checking the CCTV footage of the hotel to confirm if there was any interaction between the two sides. “There are reports that she dined in the hotel’s buffet and also attended several guests in the lobby. She was living there at a time when the South African team was staying in the hotel for the ODI match (against India) which was called off. There is information that Kanika was seen briefly attending a news channel’s annual conclave held at the hotel. Therefore it is important to scan the CCTV footage and list those who came in contact with her,” one of the officers was quoted as saying by Times of India.”

It would be difficult for the Quinton de Kock-led side if the results of them meeting the singer turned positive.
