Babar Azam is next in line to take over overall captaincy of the Pakistan team. He has already been named the full time ODI captain of the team. He is already successfully leading in T20Is. Additionally, he will take over the captaincy of the Test format once Azhar Ali retires from the position.

Babar Azam is heading towards being the captain of the Pakistan team across all three formats

Babar Azam is often compared with other renowned batsmen of the cricket industry such as Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Steve Smith, and Kane Williamson. However, the Pakistan batsman has a long way to go before he reaches where the other players are in their career.

Now, Pakistan’s former captain, Ramiz Raja, said that he can learn a lot about captaincy and how to lead a team from Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson. Both the players are leading their teams across all three formats.

Ramiz Raja said that from Kohli’s captaincy model Azam can learn how to be aggressive and passionate about the game. Kohli has a strong body language which enhances his performance. This helps him achieve the glorious results that we continue to see.

On the other hand, Raja said that Babar Azam can learn how to be calm and learn how to follow the process. In fact, Kane Williamson has a rather slow form of captaincy but is still successful.

A slow individual, he does captaincy slowly, doesn’t get emotional on the cricket field. He doesn’t have a strong body language like Kohli but follows the process. His selection is brilliant.
