Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina Picks MI & CSK Best Playing XI

Indian cricket team vice-captain Rohit Sharma recently hosted an Instagram live session with Indian batsman Suresh Raina. Rohit has been dwelling in conversation with cricketers from all around the globe to keep fans entertained in difficult times. The coronavirus pandemic has put an indefinite halt to all the cricket tournaments and series in the world. 

The two legendary batsmen Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina discussed a variety of topics during their live session. Raina has been out of the Indian cricket team for a long time now. Talking about the same, Rohit backed Raina saying that he has the potential to play more cricket for the country. 

Rohit told Raina, “I know it is tough to be out of the team after playing for so many years. We used to talk that we should have Raina in the team in some way. You have the experience and ability with bowling and fielding,”

An insight into IPL XI by Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina

In the middle of the conversation, the two cricketers decided to pick a combined IPL XI from IPL franchises Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Rohit Sharma is the captain of Mumbai Indians while Suresh Raina plays for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. 

Initially, the two players took each other’s names for the playing XI but later decided to select the team by excluding themselves. The duo mutually decided to choose Sachin Tendulkar and Matthew Hayden as the openers of the combined Mumbai Indians – Chennai Super Kings XI. For the 3rd, 4th and 5th slot they picked up the likes of Faf du Plessis, Ambati Rayudu and Kieron Pollard.

Though Raina and Rohit faced trouble while choosing one legendary cricketer over the other, the one player on whose name there was no debate was India’s former captain and Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. MS Dhoni was selected as the wicketkeeper-batsman and the captain of the team.

Further, both picked Dwayne Bravo and Hardik Pandya as seam bowling all-rounders. They selected Ravindra Jadeja as the spinning all-rounder in the playing XI. The pace attack of this star-studded team was made strong by selecting Jasprit Bumrah and Harbhajan Singh. 

For fun, Rohit also designated himself as the batting coach of the team. Also, He selected Suresh Raina as the fielding coach.
