Australian legend, Shane Warne, comes forward with his own opinion about current Indian Team skipper, Virat Kohli.

Shane Warne compares Virat Kohli to Viv Richards

He started by saying that up until now he always felt that Viv Richards is the best batsman. However, after watching Virat Kohli closely, he feels that the skipper is edging his way into the competition.

Furthermore, he says that he has shared the field with legends such as Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara. However, as of now, it seems as though Men in Blue captain is going to lead across all formats.

“Viv is the best batsman I have ever seen. Sachin (Tendulkar) and (Brian) Lara are the two best batters I have played with and now across all formats Virat is just the best. It is tough to think anyone is better than Viv but Virat is pushing that conversation.”

Virat Kohli has made fans roar with his name in stadiums. Even though he has shown signs of struggle when playing in overseas conditions, he still holds some of the best records in cricket history. Currently, Kohli continues to add runs to his career.

Warne shares his opinion about the captaincy position of the Australian team

Now, Virat Kohli is not the only player Shane Warne shared his opinion about. Warne mentioned Steve Smith as well. He feels that right now is not the good time to burden Steve Smith with captaincy. At this moment, Tim Paine should be allowed to retain the position.

“If Tim Paine can make runs, he should continue as captain. I want Smith to bat as much as he can with no more distractions. Paine has to make runs. I feel Steve should be allowed to bat till the rest of his career, not other distractions.”

Shane Warne finishes by saying that according to him the top three are Steve Smith, Virat Kohli, and Kane Williamson.
