April 16, 2020 10:47 am

During an Instagram Live chat, Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami came across an interesting question where he was asked to choose between Indian team captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma.

Owing to the coronavirus pandemic, there is no game of cricket happening anywhere in the world. Now, the BCCI has also suspended the IPL 2020 indefinitely after the Indian government extended the lockdown in the country till May 3.

Therefore like other citizens, cricketers are also spending their time in their homes while practicing self-isolation and social distancing. Many cricketers like Kevin Pietersen, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh have been holding live sessions on their Instagram handle to interact with the fans in this free time.

The new addition to this list is Indian bowlers Yuzvendra Chahal and Mohammed Shami. Both went live together and spoke on a variety of topics.

Virat Kohli and I bond in a much better way: Mohammed Shami

During the live session, Indian pacer Mohammed Shami stumbled upon an intriguing question. A fan asked him to make a tough choice between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma

Both Virat and Rohit are an integral part of the Indian cricket team and have proved to be match-winners for the team many times.

Shami didn’t take much time answering the question. He chose Virat Kohli stating that he shares a better bond with the captain as compared to Rohit Sharma.

Elaborating the reason Shami revealed, “I don’t interact much with Rohit on phone. Don’t know, but Rohit and I hardly even bond on jokes, etc. Though we have debuted in Test together…With Virat, we both talk on all sorts of things (music taste or regarding any joke). We even interact quite often over the phone. Hence, I will go towards Virat in this case. It is not because he is the captain, but we bond in a much better way,”

Mohammed Shami is the right-arm fast bowler who has done wonders with the ball for the Indian team. The 29-year-old made his debut in the Indian team in 2013.
