No certainty about the future of IPL 2020

The occurrence of the Coronavirus is the reason behind a number of cancellations. For example, Rohit Sharma is the skipper of Mumbai Indians. The first match as per schedule is between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Even though the new commence date is 15th April, no one knows if it will truly happen or not. The BCCI and the IPL 2020 committee are doing everything to ensure they take all precautions. However, the gathering of large crowds is proving to be a health hazard during such times. Whether the event will proceed without an audience or not is still under question.

However, there will absolutely be no IPL 2020 until the Indian Government lifts the ban on foreign visas. It is imperative the foreign players come to India for the event. Without the foreign players, Indian Premier League loses its essence.
