Amidst the coronavirus outbreak, legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar shared a heartfelt video thanking the medical staff and helpers.
The COVID-19 has gripped the entire world. The deadly virus is spreading rapidly in India. The number of people infected by this virus reached 415 today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated a ‘Janta Curfew’ on March 22 (Sunday). He urged citizens to not go out of their homes on Sunday from 7 am to 9 pm. This was done to stop the further spread of coronavirus. The entire nation obliged to their Prime Minister’s appeal and displayed a perfect example of unity in front of the world.
He also told citizens to come to their house balconies or windows at 5 pm on Sunday to clap, clang utensils and ring bells to express solidarity. The objective behind this was to applaud the corona warriors – doctors, nurses, hospital staff, sanitation workers, airline employees, government staff, police personnel, media people, people associated with train-bus-auto rickshaw services and home delivery agents.
The country witnessed a historic moment at 5 pm as every citizen came out to express their gratitude towards the coronavirus helpers. All the citizens including film stars, politicians and common people became part of this moment. On the unbelievable success of “Janta Curfew”, the prime minister said that this is just the beginning of the nation’s victory march in a long battle against the deadly virus.
Sachin Tendulkar took it to twitter to express his gratitude towards the people working to fight the coronavirus. He also praised the citizens for staying at their homes and supporting Janta Curfew. The 46-year old wrote, “Today India came together even while staying in our homes. While we are at home there are many who are selflessly performing their duties. Thank you to each one of you for putting us before yourself. The discipline and commitment we showed today need to continue.”
Subsequently, Tendulkar posted a heartwarming video too. In the video, the cricketer expressed his views on the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, he can be seen clapping hands to appreciate the people working towards the welfare of the country.
